The best trips

with Lelystad as starting point, the IJsselmeer is completely at your reach!

AMSTERDAM

You are most welcome in the ports of Amsterdam. At the IJ, close to the centre of Amsterdam is the modern harbour Amsterdam Marina with docks from 7 to 30 meters for passers. Amsterdam Marina is part of the Jachthaven group, with sister harbours Rotterdam Marina, Regatta Center Medemblik, Marina Stellendam and Marina Schokkerstrand. In the centre of Amsterdam, you will find the harbour Marina Westerdok, located near the Central Station and the IJ. The port is also within walking distance of the Jordaan and one of the nicest shopping streets in the Netherlands: the Haarlemmerdijk.

Experience Amsterdam! Feel how it was in the past on a VOC-ship. This ship is an exact copy of the famous VOC ship that in 1749 already went on its first voyage. The Amsterdam is one of the flagships of the Scheepvaartmuseum.

ENKHUIZEN

Enkhuizen is located 21 nautical miles from Lelystad and from our harbour you can sail there within 3-4 hours. Enkhuizen is known as the “Herring City” because of its past as the centre for herring fishing. The city is really a tourist centre because of the water sports. You will find numerous cosy restaurants and nice shops that are open on Friday evenings. And a visit to Sprookjeswonderland is worthwhile for children up to 11 years.

The Zuiderzee Museum, which has an indoor and outdoor museum, is also an educational and fun experience. Here you will find, among other things, a ship hall with thirteen real ships that sailed on the Zuiderzee and you can discover the history of the Dutch East India Company. You will encounter the nostalgia in this town which is still there.

HOORN

From our base harbour, you can go straight to the locks to reach the Markermeer and sail directly to Hoorn. With the Marker Wadden as a stopover, this is a very nice trip.

Hoorn has an outer and inner harbour where you can walk into the cosy city centre. There you can find a nice market on Saturday. Around the harbour there are many catering establishments that have a nice view over the harbour. As far as attractions are concerned, there are many museums. On the East Island, it is certainly worthwhile to visit the former prison.

BATAVIA STAD

Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet is located next to the Bataviawerf. Here you will find well-known clothing brands at attractive discounts. If you are still looking for a new sailing jacket or something else, Helly Hansen will give you a 10% extra discount on the outlet price if you show our welcome letter in the store.

The Outlet is named after the ship The Batavia. A few minutes’ walk from Deko Marine is the Batavia wharf where a replica of the ship the Batavia is moored. This ship from 1628 is worth a visit. On the shipyard, you can see how the Dutch have mastered the building of ships over the centuries to sail the oceans.

MARKER WADDEN

The Netherlands has a new archipelago, named the Marker Wadden! A newly created nature paradise for birds, fish and people.

From 2018 onwards, recreational facilities will be created, which means that you, as a sailor, have an incredibly beautiful location to sail to. The distance is about 4 kilometers from the Houtribdijk, so in one hour you can be at this beautiful location.

Much attention has been paid to the port. The wide harbour entrance is easily accessible and is spacious enough to turn against the wind.

On the largest island, there will be a long jetty for yachts with 23 berth boxes and a number of mooring buoys in the harbour basin. There is also a beautiful sand beach where you can relax.

AVIODROME

At 12 kilometers from our harbour you will find the Aviodrome where you can find various indoor and outdoor exhibitions of Uiver, Fokker Spin, Spyker and aircraft from the Second World War. Also for the youth there is plenty to do including a 4D movie that brings you in the time of the pioneering years of Dutch aviation.

Every day you can participate guided tours of both the indoor and outdoor expositions. Aviodrome guides will tell you all about the aircraft and aviation from then and now in a fascinating way. You can step into a Jumbo 747 or a flight simulator in which you experience the experience of a pilot in a capsule. This is including turbulence and a real surround system that gives you the feeling that you control the plane yourself. There is also a radio room and a viewing platform.

Weather or no weather: Aviodrome is always fun!
